My Blogging Experience

Well, my blogging experience is going very good. I like a lot to write about fun things like movies, books and other things of my life and doing it on another language is more confortable for me, especially in English because I like this language.

Is very strange because I don't have so much talent to write but when I'm writing on my blog I don't care if is good or bad... it just flows. Thats mean that I enjoy a lot to write in English and it helped to me to improve my writing because I like to speak english but I don't do so well writing. ahahah

I think that for the English class, blogging is a very good excercise and it help us to learn in a very fun way. Sometimes I get nervous speaking English about something that I don't know or just I don't care, but if I have to write or speak about something that is important for me or I have to explain something that I know to other people, is not so difficult because I feel more sure of myself and I can do it very well and give my best effort to do that.

Well... that's all! =)

VACATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello! the time of winter vacations is very close and that makes me very very happy.

If everything goes well, on 19th of July I will be free and happy and the first thing that I will do is sleep for 24 hours =D
I have no plans for these vacations but I think that will be the perfect time for have tomatoes soup, go to cinema and do a lot of exercise.
I'm not going anywhere this winter break because on September  I will go to Machu Picchu so I'm saving money for that.
If I have to recomend some places to go on vacations I think that could be the cinema, the beach and the mountain where is a lot of snow. The most important thing is that everywhere you go, there has to be SOPAIPILLAS! the most delicious thing in winter and specially if are homemade.
I have to say that I love winter but at the same time is very sad for me because on July of 2010 my grandmother died so my mom gets very very sad and we go to the graveyard to remember her and give her some flowers.

Well I think that that's all!

Biographical interview

Who is Ester Huerta?
A funny peasant girl from Pailimo... what is Pailimo? a very small and rural town near from Santa Cruz in the 6th region. She likes a lot the rainy days like this so she is enjoying this day.
Ester  is studying Journalism in the Universidad de Chile so she lives in Santiago at the week, but the weekends she goes to her home in Pailimo to see to her family.... her BIG family.
All the Ester's family have lived in Pailimo for a long time... including her grandparents.
She loves talk about her family because it is a very special family. Ester's grandmother has 20 kids... yes I swear it's true.  These are just for her father's side because the mother of Ester's mom had 12 kids more... so if you are good in math, Ester has 30 uncles!!  That's mean that she has a lot of cousins... 60 to be exact.
I think that the birthdays, the Christmas and all the festivities must be very fun and crowded!
I would like to have a family like this because I have just 3 cousins! hahaha...
Well, also Ester has one big brother who lives in Santiago and her cat Punto, who she loves a lot.
Can you imagine to have a family like this?? In a few years, Ester wants to have a very similar family but with less children... maybe 3 or 4 and I think that she would be a very happy person anyway.

That's all! =)

Who I admire

Hi everyone!
Today I'm gonna talk about the person who I admire. This is the writer, poet and interviewer Cristián Warnken.
He is not really a journalist but is a great interviewer, actually Criastian Warken is the creator of the interview program La Belleza de Pensar (The Beauty of Thinking) and Una Belleza Nueva (A New Beauty). This is a cultural space made to meet different people of the cultural world like actors, writers, painters, etc. Also he is the creator of radio programs and editor and director of a lot of cultural newspapers. Today he is a columnist of El Mercurio.
One of the most beautiful texts is Clemente, it was published on December 27, three days after his son Clemente of 3 years old died because he fell into a pool. This was a very sad time for Warkern and his family but in this sadness he could find an inspiration to write.
I like him because of his columns, these are very diferent to the other columnists and usually write a deeper stories and reflexions related to the contingency.

My Favorite Book

Chronicle of a Death Foretold is a novella by Gabriel García Márquez. It was published in 1981 and tells the story of the murder of Santiago Nasar y a very journalistic way. The star of this book is the end of the story and the name is because every character know that Santiago Nasar will be murder, but Santiago doesn’t know until he gets shot.

The reason because Santiago is murder by the two Vicario brothers is that their sister Ángela Vicario said to his husband that she wasn’t virgin cause Santiago Nasar’s foult.  That’s why Vicario brothers announce to the town thar the will kill Nasar.

I love this book because the is very exitin to read it, thios is one of those bokke tath you can’t stop reading over and over again. Also every time I read it a don’t want to get to the end. A vey special thing of this book is that is wrote like a chronicle so is very easy to read in spanish.

"The brothers were brought up to be men. The girls were brought up to be married. They knew how to do screen embroidery, sew by machine, weave bone lace, wash and iron, make artificial flowers and fancy candy, and write engagement announcements… my mother thought there were no better-reared daughters. 'They're perfect,' she was frequently heard to say. 'Any man will be happy with them because they've been raised to suffer.'"

This quote shows the severity of the lives women lead in the reserved Colombian culture of the town. The narrator describes the upbringing of Angela Vicario and her siblings. Women are not allowed to get jobs or follow their own dreams, their lives are bounded on all sides by tradition and the expectation to get married and have families. A woman's worthiness as a wife was measured by her beauty in conjunction with her ability to gracefully run all aspects of a household. the idea that a woman suffers in marriage is irrelevant and a woman does’t have expectation of happiness unless she is fortunate enough to love whichever man decides to court her. In this Spanish culture, marriage is not based on love.

"A tour de force . . . In prose that is spare yet heavy with meaning, Garcia Marquez gives us not merely a chronicle but a portrait of the town and its collective psyche . . . not merely a family but an entire culture.” –The Washington Post Book World

This is a revew from Amazon that attach importance to the social part of this story. This could be a criticism to the way to resolve the problems in the society and the traditionalism of the human minds.
Anyway… I really recomend this book <3

My favorite photograph!!!

Hey! this afternoon i´m gonna talk about my favorite photograph!
Last year my mom took this picture in San Pedro de Atacama. When I went to visit my family to Calama on July I invited my boyfriend for a week because I think that the desert of Chile is one of the most beautiful things in the world and he has to see it.

The reason why I love this photo is that has a beautiful landscape. The desert of Atacama is a very touristic place, specially the Moon Valley. I lived in Calama for 18 years so I know all this place like the palm of my hand.

One of the wonders of San Pedro de Atacama is the sky at any time you  look it. During the day it's a beautiful blue and clean sky with the sun shinning perfectly and during the night you can see all the stars and the prettiest moon of the world.

Well... I think that I have not so much to say because I'm very very sad cause of the House Series Finale :(

Bye!

If you want to study at U. de Chile....

1.- Arrive earlier to the campus, no later than 4:00 PM. Once in a party in the campus, someone cause a fire in the library of science faculty. Since then is very difficult get in to the campus if you come to a party or you study in another campus

2.- Don't ever go to the philosophy faculty in a middle of a protest. Always happen that the students of phylosophy and The UMCE start protests and battles with the police. In that case don't forget bring your lemon!

3.- Forget the most of your networks: facebook, twitter, myspace, youtube, messenguer only helps to your procastination when you have to study. You must organize your time and when you might take a break, sign in a red social but be careful, you can pass the time you give yourself to rest.

Hello!!! Today I'm gonna talk about my favorite TV serie.

I have to say that is very difficult to me 'cause I see a lot of series! they are Glee, Gossip Girl, New Girl, Aquí no hay quien viva, Modern Family, How I met your mother and others, but the most important is House MD.

This is a medical drama serie that debuted on Fox on november 16 in 2004. House has 7 seasons and now is showing the 8th. The creator and director is David Shore and t
he plot is centred on the principal character Gregory House, a genius doctor who has a very special way to treat his patients. The actor who makes as House is Hugh Laurie, who participate in the production too.

I have to say that I'm so sad because this is the last season of House an the last episode will be on may 21th... maybe I'm exaggerating but I see this serie since I was 13 and I can't imagine myself not waiting for an episode every week.

I would like to go to the concert of Hugh Laurie on June just for see him but the tickets are so expensive and I don't know so much the music of Hugh but  I think that worth it. Go to the concert would be my way of live the mourn for the end of the serie.

Hey!!! isn't today a beautiful day?
I think that is awesome because is a rainy day and I love the rain.
Today I'm gonna talk about my favorite piece of technology: my iPhone
When I was younger I thought that wasn't important to have this type of  phone but last year my phone stoped working and I said: why don't get an iPhone? So I bought it and something changed... I fell in love with it.
Some people say that is not necesary to have a expensive phone because phones are just for call and to receive calls but I like my iPhone because I can do a lot of things with it. The most important is check my email 'cause I receive a lot of it from work.
Sometimes I need to search some information quickly and I can do it with my phone.
I think that I use it very often during the day for different things, sometimes is for check Facebook, Twitter or E-mail. Sometimes it's for play when I'm bored and sometimes is for text or call someone.
I like my iPhone cause all the things that can do and is very useful for my career and it has save me a lot of times. I don't realy know how life would be without my iPhone but I think that doesn't make so much difference ... I hope.

The love of my life

Hi again!
Today im gonna talk about the band of my life: Coldplay
They are a british band formed in London and is composed of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion and my favorite Guy Berryman. Their music is like soft rock but im not sure, I just know that I love it because they are british and the incredible voice of Chris Martin. I think that the best thing of Coldplay is their music because is so relaxing and have a song for every moment of life. My favorite song is "Everything's not lost" because I can hear it in every moment and always make sense.
Coldplay has been a very important thing in my life until now and once of the best moments was when they came to Chile and made three concerts in Espacio Riesco. I went to the last one at 16th of february, the only rainy day in summer of 2007. At this moment I was recently broke up with my first boyfriend and met my best cousin and friend Javiera, who went with me to the concert.
Thats why Coldplay is the band of my life.

Auto- Biography

Hi!
I don't have any idea how to start this, thats why this blogg is called Dot Dot Dot...
As the most of you should know, i was born in Chuquicamata on 4th of March in 1992. Chuquicamata was a very small place in the north of Chile, near to Calama.
When i was 15 i moved to Calama but it was basically like living in the same place.
I have to say that this city wasn't my favorite place in the wolrd but this year i moved again to Santiago with all my family and we are happier than before because we are nearer to the rest of the family.
When i was 17 i traveled to europe for 2 months. In January of 2008 i lived for a month in Abbey College in a little town of England called Malvern Hills. In this month i visited places like London, Stratford, Stonehenge, Liverpool and Edinburgh in Scotland. In February i went to the rest of Europe like France, Belgium, Germany, Holland. I like to talk about this because was THE BEST journey of my life until now.
In England i met a very important people in my life until now and i discovered the best thing in this world: The hot chocolate of Caffè Nero.
I finished highschool in Colegio San Ignacio and now i'm studying journalism in Universidad de Chile. Sometimes i have problems with my vocation but something makes me stay just where i am.
My family is more or less big. I live with my parents, my two brothers. my grandfather (my mom's father) and my grandmother (my dad's mother). Since im the only girl i got my own room and my own bathroom
I have 9 pets: one dog called Gato (yeah , is ridiculous) and 8 birds.
My favorites hobbies are watching a lot of movies and tv series, going out with my boyfriend and drinking beer with my friends. I love baking cupcakes because it's the only thing i know how to bake. And im really fond of winter because of the rain and the cold; this combination makes it the perfect time for tea, food and movies.
I hope someday i'll be a journalist or something, just wanna get a good job and go back to England or travel around the world.
I think that's all that i have to say about me. If i forgot something maybe is because isn't important.
